That's exactly how I set mine up. I had 9/16 bolts first but they didn't fit so I had to go get 1/2. There's a little play in the bolts but the oem were 1/2 too except they had shoulders on the bolts. I had the great idea of installing the new bolts with the nuts inside but then I realized the hitch wouldn't go back on if I did that. All in all it was a simple lift, except I didn't have an 18 or 21mm socket in 1/2 drive so I was forced to use a stubby 3/8 wratchet for it and beat the hell out of my hands. I then had to call my old man for some penetrating lubricant that seeps down into cracks as small. As 1/1000000 of an inch. That worked wonders and even saved my OEM bushings from destruction. I hand tightened all the bolts and dropped it down and then cranked them as tight as I could get them. The torsion bars were pretty stiff too. I used that oil and got them to 8 turns, I may need to lower the front to level it out. Now I get to go back to autozone and napa and get my $160 back from the unused bushings. Ill get pics up tomorrow hopefully.

Good to hear it worked out. Yeah its a pain when **** like this happens. but you'll love the extra lift. especially on older durangos the 98-00 durangos are already 1.5 inches taller than the 01-03 durangos. when i put my lift in i was as high as the older ones. lol thats when i looked it up and saw when dodge did their small changes to the durango after 2000 they also lowered it some. so you are probably sitting at a good level right now. close to some full sized trucks. well older ones.

Yeah. So far I love it, the suspension is quite squeaky right now, I suppose it needs to adjust to the new height.

yeah, i bet your tires are looking a little smaller as well? lol Yeah you'll get used to the new height really fast!

i know i did when i did my lift. mine was closer to 1.5 inches than 2 though. but still its an extra 1.5 inches. and its a sturdy lift as well.

Lol yeah the tires are looking a bit smaller but I can deal with it. As far as the alignment goes it actually drives straighter than it did when it was lower. My only concern now is if the botls will hold up. Like I said I had to use 1/2 so there's a little wiggle in the bolts. They're grade 8 so they're pretty strong but I don't know how strong. I called napa and they said they didn't know for sure if they could get the oe bolts with the shoulders.

I think you'll be fine. they're pretty tense in there and the difference from 9/16 to 1/2 is minimal enough to where you should be fine. and yeah good idea on the grade 8 that way they wont rust up either.

and actually 31's on that lift don't look to bad. I know I'm running it lol. just clears up some extra space in the hub. and a little better ground clearance except for at the differentials/axles. they stay the same i believe?

Yeah a lift only gives you more body clearance, bigger tires give you more axle clearance.
I've been running 31s since I got my tires changed but they are 235s so i've never had any rub. I also have pics and Im getting ready to get them set up on PB.

Here they are! For some reason one of the pics didn't like the resize so sorry about that.

id like to see your sources on this one, bc my friend has a 99 and it sits lower than mine (02) both are at stock ride height, and both are 4x4
