Ah yes, I noticed this as well. I can understand the obvious 8 washers but I would foam at the mouth if I went and got 10 more washers and wasted $5! J/k but really I want to make sure I have this 100,000,000,000% understood before I try it. I trust it will be easy but I want to be prepared for everything, I don't like surprises when it comes to fixing my car.

WHERE AND WHY ARE PEOPLE USING WASHERS?! I'm so lost with that. Moparman. Where ever you are I'll come and do it for you! lol

I didn't put any additional washer on mine. Don't know why you would have to? The shackles are stiff and so are the top and bottom ends where the insert on the leaf springs and such.

you dont get any side to side movement. and there is no need for washers besides them taking up space on the sides that don't need to be occupied. At least thats my consent on it.

Moparman if you have an ace hardware near you they sell hardware/nuts/bolts/washers there (i work at an ace lol ) And washers are like 12-20 cents a piece. DEPENDING

Yeah the washers I was talking about were the ones on the end of the bolt and nut. Lol I used to work at Menards I know how cheap they are. But I'm in Omaha man so you've got a bit of a drive........

Lmao, the reason I want so much detail is for the above reason. Ajoshi says no washers, 98dodge says 18 washers. Basically I'm like WTF M8.

And on top of that, I'm supposed to be saving for a Hawaii vacation for July, and right now that's a pretty high priority. I also have a nonfunctional Airbag, Horn, and Cruise Control so I need a new clockspring. And out as far as I am in Omaha, there's deer galore and I don't want to do a face plant in my steering wheel at 55MPH.

You technically are suppose to use washers, but you don't "have" to like ajoshi did. Either way the washers are to fill in the gap between the leaf spring and the shackle because the springs are slightly not as wide as the shackles. Also you may need some between the shackle and the frame mount.

Just go and get your 6400 shackles and at least 18 washers that will fit the bolts that come out of the leaf spring and the shackle to frame mount add them as needed when you're doing the lift. They are only for filling in gaps between the 2 bolts per side.

Good luck on your clockspring, I'm having a complete nightmare with the cruise control buttons right now, they are all multiplexed and a huge pain to get the correct resistors in them.
But a working airbag is always much more important than a lift...unless your lift is 7 feet tall so instead of hitting a car they just go right udner you haha.

Haha yeah. I called the stealership about labor fees and they said they'd get back to me and guess what, they never did. I think I could do it myself as long as I get the power out of the airbag properly. But I can get it off eBay for like $150, or the stealer for $200. I'd really like to have Cruise, as I travel an hour to Lincoln every now ana again and that takes a lot of gas free footing it at 75mph.

Well, If you wanna play it safe. than get the washers. it wont do any harm but all i'm saying is my lift is sturdy and i didn't use any washers.

that is true though. they aren't as wide at the top. But they don't need to be.

And yeah that is a ways away lol....ROAD TRIP...I wish! Could use a break from school, and work lol
