Default backup light?

I've had my 98 5.2 for about 3 yrs now, absolutely love it. But about six months ago the backup light started acting up, I had to put upwards pressure on the gearshift in order to keep it on, but in recent weeks it won't turn on at all. Any ideas?

The switch is on the transmission and it needs to be replaced.

It's on your trans. It should be on the drivers side toward the linkage and I should be the Neutral/Park Switch. About $10 at your favorite store. Be ready to catch some trany fluid!
