i think its 287, but afaik dodge only made one, the 4.7 is the 4.7

if you are in doubt it should be on a sticker on the underside of your hood

Default Problem Solved

I bought a 45RFE Tranny for $275.00 including shipping that had 39k miles on it. The transmission shop installed the tranny added a auillary cooler and flushed the system for $640.00. So for 915.00 the problem has been corrected. Thanks to all for your input!

I was wondering if anyone on here use Mobil1 synthetic transmission fluid. I just switched to Mobil1 full synthetic oil and I was wanting to change all my fluids to Mobil1 synthetic. I just didn't know if anyone has used the transmission fluid from them.

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...hetic_ATF.aspx is not compatible to ATF+4 composition. That said, do not use it.

I just seen that valvoline has an ATF+4 full synthetic trans oil for chrysler's. There is also a castrol ATF+4 synthetic. Which product do you think is better or is it basically just whichever brand you prefer more?

Valvoline is registered and it is a Hydro-Cracked Fully Synthetic base. It's better than regular conventional but not a POA base. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...f-4-facts.html

Both are certified and approved establishments so you are good to use either.

Castrol ATF+4 synthetic uses a "highly refined Base oil" which they aren't telling us what it is like Valvoline does but I would suggest that it is a Hydro-Cracked base stock but without them actually listing the base oil I lean more towards Valvoline. I don't like it when firms don't fully disclose what they are selling you.
