Default no buse code in odometer

I have a 01 durango and a few days ago I dont know if the fuel pump went out or it ran out of gas, but while driving the truck began to act as if it was running out of gas. The truck stopped on the side of the road and while trying to crank it the whole truck lost power. After a few minutes the power came back. I had added 6 gallons of gas but it still wouldnt start. I figured the fuel pump had went out because I couldnt hear it priming so I replaced it, and it didnt seem to fix the problem. I still cant hear it prim and I'm getting a NO BUS code on the odometer. The truck turns over fine it just sounds as if its not getting fuel. Is there a fuel shutoff on it? Also while the key is turned over something on the rear engine wall makes a clicking noise. I have notice that this seems to be a common problem, so what would be the best way to narrow the search for the problem. I'd hate to spend all the money on the ECM and then still have to turn around and replace something simple like a CPS. If you have any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

check the plug connections on the PCM, and try changing the fuel pump relay (in the black pdc next to the battery, should swap with a/c relay, or have an extra in there) try these and get back to us, it could also be a loose connection in the dash

You state you have a 1999 5.2L Durango, and also a 2001 unknown engine Durango. Which one are we working on?

You need to replace the PCM with a NO BUS code. It also could be the plug in harness like Sharps is saying.

If you need a replacement PCM you can get them on ebay PRE-FLASHED ready for direct install.

Right the problem is with the 01 4.7. I have tried replacing the relay, I have replaced the fuel pump and I have pulled the wiring harrnesses from the ecm. What would be making the clicking noise? And if I have to replace the ecm can I use a used part?

Ebay:

First check the harness then replace the PCM. Here is a link to a direct replacement for $199 shipped and it is a direct bolt it/plug and play.

I want you to try something, unplug the crank sensor see if the no bus on the dash shows mileage. If it does, try starting the engine. the engine will start and run will just the cam sensor. Not very well. Then replace the crank sensor. If that doesn't work then unplug the cam sensor. In most case's a few sensors will take the bus circuit down. Crank,cam,tps,a/c transducer, temp, and the pcm. Hope this helps

I unpluged everything that I could get to with and got no change. The odometer brings up the mileage first then after a few seconds it starts to flash and then when I either try to start the truck or put the pocket reader on it is when the code comes up
