Default Vacuum Lines

Great forum, very helpful! But now I have a problem that doesn't seem to be on the site.
I've looked through the forum and the service manual and couldn't find any info. I have an '01 5.9 SLT

I'm getting a hissing sound from a port on the passenger side of the engine. It has a small rubber boot that looks like the hose got ripped off. I can't find the hose or where it's supposed to connect to. The VECI diagram says it should connect to the "Speed Control, Climate Control & 4x4 Control".

Also I broke a vacuum line that runs from a 'T' connector at the firewall along the valve cover and to under the front passenger fender. I spliced it together with a rubber sleeve, but I'd like to replace it so I don't worry about it coming apart. I took the hose to dealer and he had no clue...

Thanks for any help!

Have you try using 5/16 bulk hose?

Connect the two ends. You need that vac.
Yes that other one is a cap.

your repair looks fine in the picture, if you want to you can use fuel hose to replace it as master tec suggested, and it looks like the other one should have a cap on it

So passenger side gets capped, same thing for the other side? I can't get my cruise control to set and wondering if these two intakes have anything to with it.

I would have to look at mine when I get home. I have a 98 and I did the Kegger Mod with an intake out of the salvage yard. Same engine, 5.9, but my vacuum ports were different from one manifold to the other. So it's at least kind of year specific. I had to get more vacuum tubing for my PCV valve and run it to the drivers side of the intake manifold. PCV valve goes to the manifold, brake booster goes to the manifold. I think those are it, but again, will have to look at it some time. An easy thing to check, if your cruise won't set, is to see if your brake switch is working properly. Mine wouldn't set because my brake switch was malfunctioning and telling the CTM (and my brake lights) that the pedal was being pressed full time. So, the truck thought I was constantly on the brakes. So no cruise control.
