Default Front end drivetrain noise

I have a '03 Durango 4X4 with the 4.7l v8 and I am hearing a "sqealing" noise that seems to be coming from the right front wheel area. Also, there is a feeling of a "drag" like the 4wd did not disengage properly. Any thoughts? Bearings, brakes or hubs?

Could be the brake pads going on their last miles. IIRC, bad bearings will cause a grinding noise. Does the squealing noise stop when you make right turns? Or, when was the last time you saw your cat?

but i agree, check the breaks, and the wheel bearings, if the brakes are dragging they will cause drag, and COULD cause noise

I need this weather to be a little nicer so I can see if one of the calipers is running hotter than another. Does anyone know how the front wheel bearings are constructed? Do I have to remove the hub or what?

you will have to replace the entire hub if the bearing is bad, no other way atm

You are correct! There is no rebuilding "just the bearing" as I just finalized that right out of the book.

Here is the thread I finally found and updated: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...l-bearing.html
