Default Trans took a dump

My '03 Durango started having erratic shifting/delayed shifting issue that started yesterday, when I pulled the pan today I found two broken pieces of what looks like a 6"-8" diameter spring clip laying in the bottom.

I don't really have the money get this trans rebuilt and it's my wife's daily driver.

Ya parts in the pan is not a good sign.. Well rebuild can be pricey.. only 4 options here sell the truck, trade in the truck, have it rebuilt or buy a used transmission.. buying a used u never know what u are getting... buy used install it urself u can save big $$$ but if u have never replaced a transmission before i DO NOT recommend it at all (2 wheel drive not that bad, its the 4x4 that is just down right tons of work) if u are buying used junkyard may offer u a small warranty on them, ebay or craigslist.

You may get lucky an find a honest shop that may tell u its not that big of deal an fix ya right up for a few 100$$$ (not likely but possible)

Good luck!! transmission issue are not fun at all

Well I just spoke to my father-in-law and he's gonna help us out. I found a local shop on craigslist that's selling rebuilt transmissions with a warranty. I'm gonna call them on Tuesday and see what they can do for me. I'm gonna shop around.

Am going to give u a word of advise.... I myself went to a shop here in Indianapolis my first time around, had little money had no time to do it myself.. It was one of the biggest auto decisions i made. The guy had my truck for over a month, an the transmission only lasted like 3-4 weeks, warranty? well the warranty is only good as the company who provides it. They can do pretty much anything they want. So, make sure u check this shop out.. look at the Better Business Bureau, google, opinions.com an other such sites before spending that much money.. if u currently in a bind u do not need to be in another such as i was. I failed to do my homework an i paid for it ($1500 i lost) just a FYI

well for one we dont have all the information we need, while parts are not good in the transmission pan, which transmission do you have?? 45rfe? 46RE? (this is dependant on engine 4.7 gets the 45, 5.9 gets the 46)

honestly if i were you i would wait for master_tech to chime in, maybe post up some pictures of the part and he will more than likely to tell you exactly what you need to do to fix it correctly
