i have the similar issue with my 03, i fixed the blend door, and got it to cool at low ac blowing speeds, but when the ambient temp gets high, it just cant cool...it makes me sick cuz you cant really fix a poor design w/o a complete overhaul...their are ways to help things, i turn my durango on and let it run and keep the ac on low for a little bit before i get in it to go, otherwise its a heat trap...but i cant run both the front and rear at the same time, i can run one or the other to get some cool air. it clearly blows cold, just cant crank it up...then it blows hot

 

Sounds low on freon?

 

How hard is it to fix the blender door? I have the same problem and the shop told me thats what the problem was and it be $1000 to fix. Also where would I look to get info on how to fix it?

2002 shop manual, should have everything you need,

i believe you have to pull the dashboard out in order to get to the part

 

I think the 2001-2003 you can get to the blend door actuator without removing the dash.
