Alright man i'll remember that. and i'll talk to my dad about doing it too.

On a side note any other ideas what will get me more horse power and mpg without breaking the bank? I know you guys mentioned the electric fan? Also changin back to the stock champion copper core plugs. Any other ideas of things i can do about making more horse or mpg's?

Also what are your thoughts about high flow cats for my exhaust? I want a louder meaner sounding exhaust and well i want to keep it a single exhaust for as long as i can you know?

honestly the stock cat/exhaust flows just fine for quite a bit more power than you will be able to afford (from what you have told us anyway) so i wouldnt waste the money if i were you.

you could get a tuner for the truck, that will probably be the most noticable gains you can get (hypertech or superchips make them)

Look into that link I gave you........

All upgrades cost money?

Course it will make it a little louder but if you want even louder than that then go to Glass Pack mufflers like www.cherrybomb.com

Hydrashocker I did look into that link a little bit will def look through it more thoroughly tomorrow during the day.

And i know all mods cost money lol! i mean i need some cheaper mods more in the price range of 7.25 an hour lol! Any ideas for that? i mean the intake was one mod also the exhaust like a high flow cat is another small mod in a smaller price range. And a super chip is in the mid hundreds so i cant really dish that out right now.

But i'll look into your link and hopefully out of the mods stated there i'll find some i can do!

you realize that high flow cat is going to be expensive right? in the hundreds last time i looked (and that was a replacement stock cat for the chrysler 3.9 V6)

the magnaflow high flow cat is over $800!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...irectfit=93215

(here for complete listing http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...ayproducts.asp )

and really is a waste as you wont gain anything from it

save up and spend a couple hundred on the tuners, it is the cheapest way to get noticeable gains out of the truck

shrpshtr325 well i was at a local automotive shop and they have a "magnaflow high flow cat' for 130 bucks and installation would be about 50 so 180 for it. But now that you say it cost as much as 800 bucks for one then this must just be a regular cat, right? Well alright i'll save up for a tuner. Other than a tuner is there any other mods that will increase power that is in the 0-200 dollar range?

there really isnt anything you will notice in the price range, the good mods are expensive, especially for the 4.7l engine, you could try a bigger throttle body from dan the fastman

You will spend more money for the 1-2mpg gains and it is not worth it. Like Hydra and Sharp said before, the only mod that makes the LARGEST difference for the least amount of money is a tuner. Intake mod might gain you .5-1mpg. Exhaust mod, nothing but more noise, stock exhaust on the 4.7 is already good from the factory and flows real well. There are cam mods, head mods, and higher compression pistons but then again, you are talking more bucks for the little gains it might give you. Until the Big Cam Companies come out with a better cam for our engines, we are stuck with what we have. You can always put in HO Cams but that alone will be in the $300+ range and will only benefit better lower end torque. Just by switching over to fully synthetic fluids is another way of getting better mpg's but that will only get you anywhere from .5mpg to possibly 1mpg better. The stock cat is already a high flowing cat, it would be a waste of money to buy aftermarket. Only other thing that will make it have more noise is to put in straight pipes after the cat or take off the cat but then you are going against emission standards and can be fined for doing that.
