Right well it looks like i'll save my money so i can by a tuner. Now a tuner is a supechip/computer chip right? one of those hand held devices that lets you go through and change the way your computer runs right? i've never used one or know anyone who has so i may sounda little on the dumb side with some questions but i still nedd to ask them.

So for a tuner you plug it in under the dash right? where you would connect a code scanner to see if your car throws codes. would you connect it there?

also when using it, once you change something do you need to keep it plugged in at all times? Is there certain ones that are custom made for the 4.7l engines? and if so do they have quick selection mods like a max horsepower gain or a max fuel efficieny setting? So i can scroll down and say i want max horsepower and it'll self adjust everything properly to give me those gains?

also is there a reset button so i can return everything to manufacute settings? Just in case for any reason i need to return to stock settings i have that ability?

Thanks again for the advice guys it is much appreciated! Also is there one that you would recommend? One thats is the BIGGEST bang for the buck?

You do not have to keep it plugged in at all times. Yes to all the rest of your questions and SuperChips is the easiest one to use.

Alright so basically they are fairly user-friendly? Good to know!
So you guys would say get something like this?

http://www.google.com/products?hl=en...-8&sa=N&tab=wf

Is there any certain website or store you guys would recommend buying it from? to be completely honest i've never bought anything from online before. So i dont know how reliable websites like LMPerformance.com is since they have it for the cheapest.

Would you guys say getting it from summit racing or jegs? In passed affairs i've been told that those two websites are reliable websites.
Also is there any stores like autozone, advanced auto parts, or oreily auto parts that would sell them? i feel much more comfortable going in to a store and buying things.

Thanks Hydra! You can get it at either Jegs or Summit Racing, they are very reliable sources. You would have to call or do a search on the auto parts stores to see if they even carry or offer them.

Some of the best solutions to increasing horsepower and mpg are the simplest ones.

Start with the basics, air filter, spark plugs, fuel injection cleaner, oil change, Properly inflated tires, etc.... If you are insisting on getting mods, then look on eBay........

There is a cold air intake kit, mine was under $100 and includes shipping/handling Hipro is the manufacturer.......easy to install, reasonably priced and works good. The K&N kits are nice but expensive.

Also keep this in mind. You have a Durango with the aerodynamics of a Chia Pet so don't expect any major miracles. If you can get 18-20MPG you are a god.

Well magic84 i have a cold air intake. and i guess a "freer" flowing exhaust. Flowmaster does garuntee power and fuel economy gains fro mtheir products. Also i'm gonna get the stock plugs friday and i'll run some lucas as well with my gas tanks. I suppose other than that and the partial tranny fluid change i'll just wait for that superchip/tuner. You guys dont know if shops will run a tuner on your car for a small fee do you? like go to a car shop/garage and see if they will run a chip for 50 bucks or somethin?
