Unhappy Steering wheel controls stopped working!

Hi Folks! I'm hoping I'm not the first with this problem and that someone will lead me in the right direction! I have no power for any of the controls on my steering wheel. Horn, volume, cruise and I'm assuming the air bag may be in that equation. I checked the fuses and they are in order. Is this a problem that has been encounted before and is it an easy fix, or am I stuck in the hands of a Dodge dealership?
Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

you need to replace the clock spring, not something i would attempt myself as you have to remove the airbag to get at it. IMO take it to a dealer or a shop to get it replaced, this way if they f- something up, they are on the hook to fix it.

(btw the clock spring is the device that runs all the wiring into the steering wheel)

What year is your durango, and is the air bag lite on? I ran across this same problem about 5 years ago. There was a large connector under the dash and the pins in the connector were turnning green and causing a bad connection,to the radio volume, speed control and horn. But i would not rule out the clocksping.

Thanks for the quik replies! My Durango is a 2001! I'll check the harness under the dash just to rule that out before taking the plunge! The airbag light has not come on!
