I've had Durango for about 4 weeks. It is a 2003 4WD SXT with 136,000 miles. One owner. Paid $3,400 (tax refund) and gave them my 89 S15 Jimmy (POS). Really happy with the deal. Problems it had when bought were exhaust leak (manifold), heater blower motor (resister), windows only worked from driver (lock-out defective), rear hatch weather seal (chewed up from dogs?). Everything is fixed now. Replaced defective radio display with a Pioneer that has Bluetooth. All fluids have been changed. Replaced spark plugs with NGK Iridium and put in a Gibson muffler and K&N filter. Last thing to bring it to "new" condition is to replace the passenger floorboard (previous owner hit something). Found a replacement for $50 plus $40 shipping.

To do: shocks, O2 sensors. I'm sure that other things will come up. Bottom line, cheaper than car payments. Ex wife bought an 09 Hyundai Sante Fe - payments are over $440 per month. Go figure.........

So far I have gotten approx. 16 MPG combined, 18 MPG freeway. Cool thing is I bought a 2000 Dakota 2WD with 4.7 new. Have a Superchips Flashpaq, put the Dakota back to stock and reprogrammed the Durango.

I also have an 03 Harley Deuce. Best of all, they are all paid for!

Not a good choice!!! You should use the plain Champion plugs that are recommended on the sticker under the hood. Anything other than the champs could cause some or lots of problems.

I bought my truck (see sig) with 47,800 miles for $8000 in 9/08. It now has 111, 800 miles and still running strong.

Bought mine in 2008 privately for $250...yes two.five.zero. with 78k on the odometer Needed a bunch of work, the big thing was a new tranny and tires, $2000 and 2 years later I got it up to 190k without ANY problems, then it all went downhill from there up to 208k (which is where it's R.I.P.) After 190k one thing after another kept breaking, spent over $15,000 in less than a year fixing/repalcing stuff on it, finally the engine blew and I said I gave you every dime I had and I don't got no more nice knowing you, and just left it on the side of a road called for a ride and walked away from it.

$15,000 in a year?

Is that a typo?

If not, why did you spend $15,000 on a $250 truck?

What did you replace that cost that much?

Spent that much and still had a engine that blew up?

Anyways, I did just send in a check and finally paid mine off last week. No more house note OR car notes!!

No typo, just a ton of things kept breaking that I needed to replace all in the last year. At the time it was cheaper just to keep putting money in fixing the small things than buying another car, the engine blowing was the big thing that pushed it over. Needed seriously body work, the frame got bent up badly, steering boxes, needed the exhaust system replaced 3 times, o2 sensors, dropped a new transfer case in, rear diff exploded, engine head gasket replacement, various sensors, battery, ate up a set of tires in 6 months because the alignment was off, paid for an alignment every month too, needed a new PCM, and tons of other small things the list just goes on and on. I knew I should of gotten rid of my D a long time ago but I liked it so much and it's been so good to me for the first 2 years I just fixed something and said hopefully that's all I need to do, but now added up all my bills I'm disgusted at how it nickle and dimed me to death. The engine blew because it burnt too much fuel, clogged and melted the cat...for the 3rd time, just this last time the back pressure was enough to snap a rod connecting link or something.

I paid $1800.00 for my 5.9 slt plus with 137k when I bought it in november of 2010. I would have kept it but we drive too much to have a vehicle that got 15 mpg and I traded out of it right. I enjoyed my D and would consider another one if I had a need to tow anything while hauling the family.
