Default what do you think about this set up?

Once I fix everything that's already wrong with my rango and can get around to upgrading finally, think this would be a good way to start?

along with a true cold air intake, replacing the clutch fan with an electric, and possibly a stage 1 and 2 chip?

the list is a good place to start, now you need to decide which order you are going to work in

based on that list i am assuming that you have the 5.2 or 5.9l engine, that said, your most noticable improvement will come from the e-fan, the chips are useless if you want to change the computer get a handheld program from superchips or similar

i would also like to point out that any brass terminal cap and rotor with 8mm wires should be good, and part of EVERY SINGLE tune up done to the truck

Hughes intake is a bolt on bastard. Use the M1 instead.

Fastman is fine.

Go to NAPA and get the Echlin cap and rotor. Skip those above.

That MSD if fine, however you will need an adapter. Consider getting the Echlin version of the coil too when at NAPA and call it a day.

8.5s are overkill. High quality 7.5s or most 8s are fine.

eFan +1. Do it right. Don't skimp.

chip (junk) -100. Tuner instead (SuperChips IMHO)

Do you need an adapter for the Echelin coil? Which wires do you recommend to replace the stock ones with, can you link me to a good price? What size are the stock wires? Thanks!

Is this set a good option for wires?

I'm going to disagree.

MSD 8.5mm Wires #32189
MSD Blaster Coil #8228
Accel Distributor Cap #120329
Accel Distributor Rotor #130328
Accel OEM Adapter to Coil #140021AH

You can get the Echlin cap and Rotor as they are good products, however the MSD wires I list have like 98 percent efficiency whereas the Echlins might have 80 percent. The MSD coil will have about 6000 more volts then the Echlin. Check out the part numbers on www.summitracing.com

Echlin coil matches/exceed stock. That extra spark gains you nothing but advanced wear.

The adapter design sucks BTW on that MSD. It has no place to go but just hang there, placing it in peril by being way to close to the exhaust manifold or my headers. And MSD doesn't even make it. As you pointed out with the part number above, you have to mix and match it with the Accel adapter. Simply not worth it, that's all. I just threw mine away this month. Worked fine, I felt lucky, there are better options however.

Talking from experience.

I went with Taylor Spiro-pro 8mm wires. Are they good to go? I have a little buyers remorse, I feel like I should have gone with Mopar performance or OEM. I am not worried about the price, just want the best possible function. However, I got the Taylors for $52 shipped which isn't much more expensive than OEM replacements.
