Default Factory sized tires or not...

Hi guys.
Will be in need for new tires on my 2000 Durango with the factory wheels, soon.
Was thinking just for the heck of it to go up a size. Would you recommend that and if so what size? Or should I just stick to the factory size. Nothing has been modified on the truck as to clearances, suspension, etc...
Thanks,
TV

what size does your truck have from the factory????

the largest size you can fit on the truck at the stock height is 31" diameter

So looking at your reply, that should be it. Nothing taller or wider I guess without hitting something mostly when turning....

Ya you can fit 32X12.50R15's with a lil rubbin but I would recommend the 31X10.50R15's personally. Check out Wal-Mart's Goodyear Authority A/T. I put them on mine and was out the door for under 700 with a warranty you cant beat. Check em out, I dont think you can go wrong for the price.

I hear those Authorities Wear out kinda quick though. like 20,000 miles quick. I'm not sure though. they have a really nice tread pattern on them.

I just bough some new bfg Ta ko's and i stayed with stock size tires. I have a 2 inch t/s lift and i could clear 32x10.50r16 easily AND that size would have been cheaper but it really isn't worth it unless you plan on using them for more then street, snow and some mild off roading. 31's are pretty decent!

Thanks for the replies guys. I will stick to the size that I have now and look around for what i can reasonably find. Usually I shop for tires at Sears or Price Club...
Thanks again. TV

Hankook's dynapro atm rf10's are pretty nice so are the cooper discoverer atr.

oh also like hydrashocker reminded me of this, if you get a bigger size tire then your spare will be smaller.

Got it. I think that I should mind my business and just get the tires that were intended for it. This way as you said, I don't have to worry about spares etc. Thanks all.

Autolites do not burn well in our trucks, however some have had luck with the Autolite coppers but not me. I only buy Champion Copper or Champion Truck Plugs.
