Im not trying to change the subject well I guess I am. What do yall think would happen iff I pull the factory radio out and put in an aftrmarket radio and then put a small amp on the stock speakers. I do plan on putting in a couple subwoofers also but I want the door speakers a little louder to compensate for the bass. This is just a curiosity question

If you have the 6 speaker infinity speaker set it's easier said then done. You new a way of bypassing you stock amp (yes you have one if you have 6 speakers) and install your new amp. I however only have 4 speakers and have a 750w Alpine amp with Alpine speakers all around. I would recommend replacing your stock speakers if your upping the RMS wattage that is goin to be supplying them (which you are). The premium sound package is only made to be run with so much power. Also I have an aftermarket headunit as you see above, and also with the premium sound package you have to supply the stock amp if you're not installing the aftermarket amp right away or you wont have sound.

I'm not sure but how are your speakers set up? Is there tweeters separate in the door than the speakers themselves? Ive only worked on mine when it comes to speakers on a Durango and mine just has the stock 4 speakers (one in each door). If you do have a tweeter that is separate from the speaker itself I would replace them on both sides of the cabin (so one doesn't sound better than the other) and if you just have like I have where it's a 2 or 3 way speaker (tweeter attached to the speaker) I would just replace both speakers with a factory equivalent.

Ive got the optional 8 speaker infinity system, 1 tweeter and 1 woofer in each of the 4 doors. As far as what the thing has from the factory, im unsure, thats what I was asking to begin with when Indy told me what I didnt have instead of what I did have. I saw you say something about going to the dealership for a part number, I could always check my manual and see what it gives me. If I can stay within the same power range and resistance I might as well redo all 8. I dont really want to shake my neighbors chevy apart, just get decent sound.

Yeah I would probably look around with what you have and see if you can scramble up a part number. If not like I said probably go to the dealer they would be able to give you the part number.

I would try and stay away from any aftermarket tweeters because the majority of them are crap.

It wouldn't hurt to ask. Typically they can give you a part number and you can search around on websites for it (it's usually cheaper than the stealership)

At the dealer ship the service dept is separate from the parts dept. The parts dept can look those parts up and give you a part #. I used to work at a chevy dealership in Huntsville in the parts dept and people did that all the time. They wont charge you. Now the service dept are a bunch of con men. At the dealership I worked at the service writer were paid on commision and they wanted a minimum of 95$ (1 hour) to do anything
