Kensai - I got your message about the amp but I have no idea how to do anything with that stuff. Im trying to keep it simple by only having to replace the tweeter and some speaker seals.
The reason why I recommended you the Blaupunkt amp is because this amp is about the only aftermarket amp that you can directly replace and not really have to do any retrofitting. Once my amp arrives, I'll put up a DIY on how to replace your amp with this blaupunkt.
Without pulling the dash, I was unable to get my stocker amp out of the stock location on my 2000. Lifted, everything, couldn't get it all the way out.
Can you get something in there to cut it up? If I remove mine the amp will be the least of my concern but I would prefer not to have to disassemble the dash if at all possible.
I was replacing window regulator in my daughter's 2001 D and found the speaker foam surround deteriorated. She has 8 speaker system. I wanted OEM, so I didn't have to modify. Dealer wanted $105 apiece! Found new foam kits at SimplySpeakers.com for ~$25 for two. Excellant service and lots of parts, etc. They also offer reasonable prices for in house repair. Numbers on back of 6.75 inch are 56043122A, Chrysler, Infinity, 6600, & 36670. Tweeters were OK. Very pleased with results. Hope this helps.
