Random Misfires?
Its me again, with another question. I am getting misfires on Cyl 1, 4, and 8. I am also getting injector circuit malfunctions on cyl 1, 3, and 4. I did ohms tests and 12V tests on all the injectors and they seem to be functioning correctly. I am now thinking the codes could be due to the camshaft position sensor. Any thoughts?

As far as the misfires, I would check the spark plugs in those cylinders and if they're looking fouled I would replace all 8 (champion copper). As far as the injector malfunction I would guess since they're reading alright it could be a short in the wires, or a potential bad PCM.
Take those platinum plugs out asap! That is most likely where your problem was erected! You never put platinum in these rigs I don't care what the auto parts guys say. I've been working at my shop for 3 years now and we haven't had one problem due to spark plugs because of the fact we use what the OEM specs call for. For these particular rigs the temperature plugs it calls for is Champion Copper (el cheapo plugs).
Champion Iridium is also fine but never never use platinum. I would get those out asap like I said.
Typically if it was the cam sensor it would spit to you a check engine light and a code such as P0340.

Take those POS's out of the truck and take em back tell the Auto Parts counter personel they they don't work and exchange them for the cheap Champion Copper plugs. They are OEM and they work.

Typically when a cam sensor fails it fails all together. It wont send intermittent signals to the computer. and If it does the computer will pick it up and shut the system down. Cause the computer has to know exactly where the engine is in its cycle at all times to function. I would suggest especial with recent experience that is something simple like plugs or worse case some shorted wires to the coil packs.
57chevy, no coil packs on the 5.9. His info states he has a 2000 r/t which only has the 5.9 engine. So spark plugs or plug wires only.
Edit: Also, come to think of it the Bosch Platinum+2 have a non adjustable gap so what they come as is what you're stuck with. For anybody reading this in the future, never use those POS's!!
