idk how you can rebuild the computers, IMO i would stay away from it, but its your choice, (also the 5.2 and 4.7 will use different computers at the very least in programs if not in the plugs for the unit as well since the 4.7 pcm also has to talk to the TCM for transmission control)

Here is what i want you to do. Unplug the p/s switch. And see if it is leaking. If yes, Unplug all the sensors ( o2 sensors ) and the alt plug too. You may find the sensors are soaked with p/s fluid. The engine cold too long, replace the t-stat. Also remove the connectors at the PCM to and inspect for oil inside the connectors. Let me know what you find by either a pm or message board.

I'm going to get a Chiltons manual so I know all the area's that you're referring to, but here's a picture I just took of the power steering switch (I think) and the area surrounding it. When i pulled it off there was what looked like PS fluid inside the connection and the whole assembly is covered as you can see from the pictures.

When you have removed all the other connectors and they are wet with fluid, let them drain for a day or two. And leave the p/s switch disconnected and clear the codes (disconnect the battery) and drive. the only two codes you may have is the cold too long and the p/s switch. If the o2 sensor code comes back, then you can not save the sensor. Then you would have to replace the one sensor, p/s switch and the t-stat.

All the Ebay ones are rebuilds mostly. IDK how they rebuild them but a good company will exchange them if a problem is encountered and some have a lifetime warranty.

Ok when you say all of the other connectors, are you talking about all of the connectors which come from the same harness as the power steering switch I took a pic of?
After I dry them out and clear the codes, how long should I drive before testing it again? I don't have a code tester so I have to keep taking it to PepBoys. Can't thank you enough for the help.

if you reset the computer to clear the codes it can take up to 500 miles to fully reset everything, i would expect you to have the codes back w/in one full tank of gas after resetting the computer
