Default 2002 Durango R/T Intermittant running problem

Happens very intermittently. Motor feels like it starts to shake a little, and even if I add more gas by stepping on the pedal a little, it is not speeding up. It just crawls along. It feels like it is about to die, but it will not die. Usually I have to pull over and give it a bit of gas until it smooths out. Worried this will happen in a busy intersection when I need some power! I took it to the dealer, they had it for two days, and claimed it did not do this while they were driving it. Ran some injector cleaner in it with the last two fill ups, and that did not help.

Help!

Fuel pump going out? Catalytic converter?

Check the pre CAT exhaust for back pressure. It should not be more than 2-4 psi, and if its more then you have a likely blockage in your CAT and needs replaced.

I am also having this problem however have not found a cure yet.

I would also check over your O2 sensor wiring under the truck especially by the transmission and ensure there are no open wires or any shorts in the wiring.

Thanks for the reply. Will try those things. Anything else anyone can think of I should look into.

You have a dying battery. Have it tested under load.

Low idle stumble is almost always battery related.

Would I be seeing any other symptoms? Just curious, as it starts fine, and the volt gauge always sits right in the middle. Can a dying battery just produce the symptoms the low idle stumble you mentioned without anything else?

Thanks for your reply!

simple answer, yes

it is also known to cause the trucks to die w/ no warning(at idle) and all sorts of weird little things.

Have you cleaned the TB and IAC and reset the PCM?
