Default 1999 durango smells like propane

Running and not running my 1999 durango is smelling like propane. I have no reason why. But would like some help fixing this problem asap if anyone knows why and what is causing this...

Possibly a clogged and/or overheating catalytic converter

Run, don't walk, to a repair shop. Carbon Monoxide Kills.

Just put on all new exhaust system and it still has the smell. Muffler shop said my cat wasn't bad and even if I replaced it that it wouldn't eliminate the smell.

No CEL? Wouldn't it throw a code if it was the cat?
I've heard of old batteries emitting a strange odor. ???
