go to dodge.com/owners there should be a section there for requesting a build sheet, all you have to do is enter your vin #

other option is to call your local dodge dealer and give them your vin, they should be able to print out a sheet which will tell you your vin #

Also if you look in the glove box, there is a code and will say 4spd transmission or something like that. The codes are as follows:

BODY CODE PLATE—LINE 4
DIGITS 13, 14, AND 15
Transmission Codes
DGP = 4–speed Automatic (47RE)
DGT = 4–speed Automatic (46RE)
DGK = 4–speed Automatic (42RE)
DDP = 5–speed Manual (NVG-4500)
DDX = 5–speed Manual (NVG-4500 Heavy Duty)
DDC = 5–speed Manual (NVG-3500)
DEE = 6–speed Manual (NVG-5600)

There are 2 different trannies for durangos with the 5.2 and 5.9. One is the A500/44RE which is behind the 5.2/318 and the A518/46RE which is behind the 5.9/360. Both can interchange from 1996-1999. The easiest way to identify it is to look under the passenger side and look at the pan, the a500 has a notched corner pan and the a518 has a extra bulge outward under where the dipstick enters. Also you could google the a500 pan and a518 pan and look at images and see what I am talking about.

Pssst, it's just VIN, not VIN #.

#= Number. So you were alright with vin#. Its like texting.
If you wanted to send me a pm with the last 9 of your vin number, i can send you a build sheet.

Yes, # = number but VIN = Vehicle Identification Number

So VIN # = Vehicle Identification Number Number

Exactly. Same reason you don't call it an "ATM Machine".
