Electric fan swap
I have a 98 5.2 4X4 and was wondering if anyone has taken the fan and fan clutch out and replaced it with an electric one. If so what all do I need and how hard is it? Will I see a difference in power and fuel economy? thanks.
Here's what we have in the DIY section. HTH.

i dont mean to hijack this thread but is it better to have the fan and fan clutch replaced with a electric one?

Dodge (or anyone else) doesn't go full electronic fans because most trucks are used for towing and they promote heavy duty use. They are not a car with a trans axle. A clutch fan when fully engaged is going to bring in more air then any fan out there on the market, this will cool that motor faster and that holds them less financial responsibility.
i have a 99 which doesnt have any electric fan at all. But thanks for the info. I dont do alot of towing or pulling either it is for my wife to drive the kids around.
