Friction creates heat and heat breaks down metals. You are having serious problems with something locking up so this is why I said add a friction modifier to reduce the amount of friction between the moving parts.
Friction Modifiers are not just for Limited Slip applications and they simply reduce the amount of friction between moving parts whether it be in the crankcase or the differential.
When I had an open differential I used a friction modifier because I did a lot of towing and that put a lot of stress on my rear end.
The friction modifier is simply a recommendation and it's up to your discretion if you want to use it or not but if you keep locking ip in front like that you might be spending $800 on getting a ring and pinion replaced rather than buying a $10 of friction modifier.
