Default suv wont start in rain help

Ok so i have a 1998 dodge durango 5.9l. this recently started to happen. it turns over and sound slike it wants to start but just dont. i changed the distributor cap and rotor. i think it has to do with the fuel maybe something getting wet down there, because the other day by chance it started in the rain however as soon as i hit the gas it stalled... please help any ideas

Sounds like a wire or connection is getting wet. First you need to determine if its spark or fuel related. Have you check to see if you're getting spark when this happens (remove a spark plug and ground it while some one turns the ignition)? That would tell you if it's a spark issue.
To test for fuel issues, spray some starting fluid directly into the throttle body to see if it starts or even sputters (careful though, it might pop back at you).

I've had a similar problem. Check your plug wires. My problem was the wire that connected to the coil. It was corroded had a green coating on the connections.
It would start if it was not raining or damp outside.

if it starts every time with out it raining its not GAS!!! check wires

It could be. The fuel pump is electric. .... Think before you speak if you're going to be an a$$!

on with the problem did you replace the plug wires

the fuel pump acting up is not bad gas, its a fuel delivery problem, now can both of you calm down? thanks
