So i just bought a 2001 Dodge Durango 5.9 about 3 weeks ago. Ran good until today. Just had left the house when all the sudden she died. So i turn the key and she wont run unless i keep my foot on the gas, once i take my foot of the gas she will just die. There are no lights on the dashboard witch confuses me even more. Battery has 12.5 volts and has a good 14 volts if I keep my foot on the gas. So what might be wrong?

I dont know so far its only happened when cold but when i got home the engine was hot and still wouldn't start. I mean i havn't looked at the distributor yet but i pulled out one of the plugs and it was fine. I was thinking of the IAC, so ill have to go look to see if its clogged up or anything. Also it used to start up very easy.

So i cleaned out the IAC and it was pretty dirty. It started right up so i took it out for like a 10 minute drive(enough to warm it up). Get back in the driveway and put it into park and reved it a few times. It almost died a few times(300-400 rpm) but stayed running. Shut it off for 3-5 minutes to clean up the tools i used. Went and started it again and started fine but died when i reved it. I dont know what to check for next?

Yes. Well, the good news is that you eliminated one option.
Did you happen to notice what type of spark plugs were used? If they're platinum they need to be swapped with champion copper gapped at 0.040. I would also be curious about the pressure in the fuel rail and strength of the spark delivered (ie, ignition coil).
Soon, you'll get responses from some of the more experienced guys. They may have other ideas.
