98 Durango SLT 5.9 Squealing noise (water pump)
I'm getting a squelling noise and can't really tell where it is coming from. The D has 245,00km. When I grab the fan and move from side to side there is play there so I'm assuming the waterpump is toast. Do you agree? Is this fairly easy to replace? I have to change the heater core so I'm guessing it would be a good time to tackle both considering fluid loss.

it depends... it could be the fan clutch if its easy to spin... i wouldn't consider it an "easy" fix... but its not terribly hard.. my dad and i did it in a couple hours on a sunday... it all depends on the condition of your hoses when you pull it off... does it squeel when you start the rig? or some other time

I actually have 3 things to do (shaft is in another post): water pump, heater core and intermediate steering shaft. I'm not worried about the AC as I've bypassed the belt because the line to the rear AC unit sprung a leak and it isn't worth repairing. I figured I have to drop the steering for the intermediate shaft so might as well tackle the heater core. I looked at the waterpump and I'm not sure what type it is. The part place is asking if it is a bolt on or press on pully. All I see is one big nut in the center of the pulley and when I look close I see four holes in the pulley but no bolts in them. I had the dealer email a pict but it shows a four bolt end.
