If you have to "Hold it hard" then that means the button is going bad then.

Default New button, issue not fixed

I got a new button from Rock Auto & replaced the old one. It worked on my test drive but, when I hitched & towed, it wouldn’t work. Now, how do I fix this issue?

What are you driving?

For the most part, the O/D off switch just suggests to the PCM that you don't want overdrive..... If you press the button, and the light comes on, it *should* be working. If it doesn't, likely a wiring problem.
