I have a 2000 durango slt 5.9l. i was looking under the hood one day and saw this hose just laying around. I followed it and looks like it goes to the gas tank but im not too sure. If it is dissconnected can someone tell me where it goes.

 

that almost looks like a differential breather hose, you have a 4x4?

if it was an evap hose i would expect a CEL to be on p044x for a (probably) large leak, makes me think its the breather hose, wait for someone with the same engine/year/driveline to post up bc that hose isnt there on my truck

 

i have a 98 5.2 4x4... just looked and i dont see a hose that looks like that

 

im inclined to say its not the breather hose for the differential... doesn't look right...

 

my 99 has one but it goes to the intake? maybe thats where it goes cant swear by it becuase mine have a k&n cold air on it

 

i believe its the EVAP canister vent. my 99 has it with an umbrella looking cap on end of it.

 

My old 5.9L was the same way as that ^^^^^.

 

My '98 5.2l looks the same as this pic... i think you just lost a cap
