2002 Grand Cherokee 4.7 TCM Ordered!
I think the only reason the 1st gen durango had the 4spd program is because the 5.9l had the 46re 4spd. That way salesmen didn't have to explain to people why they could get a 5spd with the 4.7l and not a 5.9l.
I realise this is the Durago forum but this thread came up when I searched on this topic.
I have a 2000 Dakota with 4.7 and the 45RFE box. I recently swapped the 3.55 gears for 4.10's and whilst I love the performance and towing improvement, I'd love to get the revs down again on the highway. (went from 2100 to 2500rpm at 70mph)
I remember looking into this some years back but decided to do a search again on this subject. Previously it had always said that the 45RFE couldn't be upgraded to the 545RFE on this model year.
Reading through this thread it now sounds like it CAN be done (with a loss of the PRND32L lights). If it can be done, how do I go about doing it? Is it a change of TCM or a "flash" with a StarScan?
Thanks.

From what we have discussed here and in other threads is yes it can be done with a tcm from a 2000 GC into a 2000 Dak/Dur. The only issue is that the PRND21 is always lit up like you have them all selected so and the check engine will flash rapidly off and on one time every now and then.
