need help with this trans rebuild
Don't wanna highjack the thread but may I ask how to identify the model of my tranny? I to have a 99 5.9 4x4.
99go<----- Your transmission is a 42-44RE
Torqued<---- Have you tried this?
Disconnect the electrical connector on the drivers side, shortly behind the shift linkage. (should be like an 8 pin connector) Take the truck for a drive. Bear in mind, you will not have ANY automatic function AT ALL. You will have to shift each gear manually. (and o/d will never engage.....) If the trans actually shifts this way, replace governor pressure sensor and solenoid. The other thing you could try is the transmission output speed sensor.
Try it first.
The reason I ask is because if it acts fine then it is electronic, not hydraulic and that is good. Remember you have to shift manual like a manual transmission because you will not have any automatic shifting because the PCM will be unincorporated.

Yes I have the PDF for the tear down on the 46RE. Actually I have a few things. I don't have the video, it's like 800+ megs!
Now are you talking in this link: http://pwp.att.net/p/s/community.dll...pid=404015&ck=
because it looks like everything is still working?
