1) on dodge trucks it is known as a PCM if you call up a tu ning shop and call it an ecm you WILL get overcharged bc they will think you are an idiot (not trying to be a dick here, just getting the information out there)

2) yes you can have the PCM tuned, hemifever does it iirc, and i believe superchips offers downloadable custom tunes if you buy their programmer.

I thought that when they did tunings you had to send your computer out or is this something tottally different?

for a true custom tune you need a dyno and they put your truck on it and hook it up to a giant computer which writes a program to optimize the mods done to your truck, and then they flash that program into the PCM, it is NOT cheap

the superchips programmers are around $300 and then i believe (i might have the wrong brand in mind) that you can buy custom tunes where you tell them what mods you have done to the truck and they will write the code and send it to you, you load it into your programmer and write it to the PCM through the OBDII port.

i dont have a price for you, that will depend on your area and what race/performance shops are willing to do.

B&W offers a custom tune: http://www.bgperformancepcm.com/

If you are looking for straight performance then go to SCT Hemifever. I think the price is $250 for the tuner and tune. http://www.hemifevertuning.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=25

There are also tuners like Superchips and Hypertech that also tune, and have tire and gearing options as well.

BTW<------ You have a JTEC brand PCM.

Hey guys, figured I would post here since this is a new option for computer tuning since hydra has a list going. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this tuner http://www.edgeproducts.com/product.php?pk=162&pvk=450

Edge has never made this product before. They have always been a Diesel product. Sounds like they have expanded their models because of the recession to help the business stay alive. I would not think those performance increases they are boasting are actually REAL numbers, as with all manufactures.

Yeah I know, superchips is now claiming 80ftlbs, 20 more than the previous 60ftlbs. I was just curious to see if anyone has used it.
