Default Painted the calipers and drums tonight

With the help of my 10 y.o. nephew we painted the calipers and drums tonight in preperation for getting new rims on Sunday. He helped sand them down, clean them, tape stuff off, and did the clear coating. Raising this boy right :mullet:

Uhhh... the front pads need to slide along the rails and the banjo spring needs to move. It looks as if it is all now painted into once piece. The slides should be greased up as well, not painted.

Concept gets an "A"
Implementation perhaps a "C"

JMHO.

There is nothing painted in between where the rotor and pad meet

Should have taken the time to remove the calipers before painting. You are going to have some brake issues up front because of sticking parts. The pads have to be able to float or slide on the guides. Your idea was good but your method not so good.

+1 Indy

The painted pad arm slides are going to cause an issue, not to mention the springs.

Dude you should have taken off the parts BEFORE you painted them.

Take our word for it, you will have as the pads wear down. Taking everything apart and cleaning and lubing the slides now could save you a whole lot of problems later and it could also mean the difference between you brakes working and not working.

+1 indy and bwdakrt

you should definitely shouldn't have painted the pads and should have remove the calipers before painting them.

and you know how things go, you brakes will work fine until either someone pulls out in front of you or you're going down a mountain
