Default Possible tranny issue

So I have had the D for about 3 months now and since I bought it I have noticed that second gear is real short. It shifts from first to second no problem but it is in second for literaly 2 maybe 3 seconds then into third. If Im getting on it with wide open throttle it will stay in second longer. Im not sure what the service record is on this D and was planning on doing a fluid and filter change. So my question is, is there cause to be concerned with the way its goes threw second gear or is that normal?

Try a throttle Valve cable adjustment.

TV cable adjustment, and it could also be a transmission output sensor.

How fast are you driving when you have this problem? And have you check the fluid level?

Cool. I will try the TV cable adjustement this weekend and will double check the fluid level. I checked it when it was new and the level looked good as did the fluid.

I will have to steal the D from my GF and take note of the speeds when it is shifting along with the RPMs.

As always thanks for the input

Make sure you check the trans fluid with the engine running and in neutral. Any questions look in your manual.
