Default Fog lights with high beams mod?

So not having fog light with my high beams has been bugging me like you wouldn't believe ever since it got the truck. Now I found this link http://www.durangoclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=30602 . But the wiring is different for a 1998 vs. 1999-00. I tried the mod in the link and all it did was turn on my fog lights permanently until you pull the wire back out, so I was wondering has anyone solved this problem?

Did you do the 14 gauge wire trick?
I didn't even know the fogs went off when you turned the high's off...good to know though!
Ill have to try this when I get my new fog light installed that I got in the mail.

Yeah I tried it, it turned my fogs on with out anything else on. I tried grounding the relay to activate it with the highs on and all it did was make my highs brighter........

I did it with my 98 and had the same issue. It was all trial and error after that. Here's how mine is set up. If you need a pic lemme know but I'll just try to describe it first.
If your standing on the divers side looking at the fuse box one end of te wire goes in the center connector and the other end goes in the top right

Please post a pic jmess, the last thing I want to do is break another relay messing with this......

Turbo the pic Dirtrango posted should work on your 99, it should also work for a 2000. The 98 models were wired different
