1st gen durango its a 99 with 5.9 4x4
Also, if something is drawing your battery, once u get it started and until you figure out where the draw is coming from, I would remove the Ignition Off Draw fuse from the block. Should be in slot 12, 15 amps, and blue. Only take it out when you turn the truck off for a few hours. Just an idea
on the 4.7 the crank sensor needs to be good and plugged in if you expect the engine to start, idk if there is a similar setup on the 5.x series engines of not (it would probably be the pickup sensor) however the reason it needs to be plugged in is so that the computer knows when to provide spark to the engine (if you have spark then the problem likely lies elsewhere, althought i couldnt tell you where)
yes it has a cam sensor, but chances are it is working since he has spark
however we cant tell if the spark is strong enough or not, and idk of a way to test it except to try replacing the coil.

Look for this wire and make sure it is not broken. It is the smaller one in the pic and is located on the bracket that holds the power steering pump.
It comes out of the harness and if it is broken or not connected properly, then the motor will turn over but not start. You will still have spark and fuel though.

I went out yesterday an it started right up.Then went out today an battery's dead today so couldnt see if it would start ganna charge it tomorrow an see but any ideas why it would just start out of the blue dos it sound like the computer is going out?
