LOL

I got them from my family member that was a chemical engineer for them and used to test their oils and competitors lubrication products. But you can get them from what I hear, just give them a call and ask them for some, of course you might have to purchase them, but they are cheap.

In reality the only warming up i do with my D is getting in turning it on letting the oil circulate for a minute or two, get my seat belt on, put my music on and go lol. But i see what where youre coming from. But what about those who do warm their vehicles up? Wouldnt that count as the oil getting worn? and how many people do warm their vehicles up? Alot of people during the winter do it and its simply to warm up the interior as far as i know from asking others. It just makes me laugh a little inside. My D will warm up as soon as i start driving and i dont have to wait 10
-15 mins.

what you do is exactly correct (same procedure i follow, start it up, buckle seatbelt turn on radio, drive)

yes, the oil is being 'worn' in a sense while idling for warm up, those people are wasting gas, time and money in warming up their engines by idling, however the best way to warm up the engine (and transmission, since the pumps do NOT run in park) is to drive very gently(keep it to 2k rpm) until the water temp gauge registers (at this point you also have heat in the cab) on these trucks it will only take a couple of miles to get to this point (at least thats how far it takes for my truck to get there)

my temp usually starts coming off the peg when the fan clutch stops howling, which makes sense. While you don't need to let it warm up to drive you shouldn't drive it like you stole it until the temp gets within normal operating range

My truck doesn't come off the peg until about 1-2 miles down the road, all depends on the temp outside. sometimes if I let it warm up for just 5-6 minutes it will come off the peg, but usually not.

Wow. Who would have thunk? A five page thread in 24 hours. Must be a lot of passion out there about oil.

So, John - In regards to yer original question: You got the truck for free! Your in the envious position of being able to experiment and your out nothing. Sweet.

Choices are Plain (Dino), Virgin (Blend), or Extra Virgin (Syn). Lemme know which works best in case M1 doesn't cut it.

BTW: I also use M1 for all my vehicles, but only cuz I have one whose warranty requires it. And it was far easier to move all vehicles to the same oil than going to do an oil change with 15 Quarts of the wrong kind sitting on the shelf.

If you go to your "User CP" link in the top left then "edit options" then in the middle of the page "Thread Display Options" and chose the "Show 40 Posts Per Page" options and then move to the bottom of the page and hit the "Save Changes" button then it would only be 2 pages, not 5 pages.

Anyway, guess you got yourself screwed on those aftermarket warrenties didn't ya? I mean they don't waranty home oil changes in the fine print. And then you paid out your *** for it just to let it all go with your first $30 oil change decision!......LOL

Also, concerting you already broke your terms on your contract, you could use the oil you want now, orrrrrrrrrr, you can stay with a proven brand.
