Ugh, Rear Sagging

Default Ugh, Rear Sagging

Ok, Just did the front end. Everything aligned, torsion bar adjusted...

Before:
Center of tire to Ground: 14 1/4 Inches
Center of Torsion Bar Bolt on Lower Control Arm: 11 inches
They is supposed to be a 1.85 inch (give or take .25) difference.

So I adjusted it and everything, and now the rear is about 3 inches lower. It is VERY noticeable.

Now my question, with my shocks being bad in the read (rusted out) could that be it or do I need to look into new leaf springs or doing a add a leaf kit?

I just haven't gotten to the rear yet, it is my next project.

Well your standard shock does nothing for the ride height. You could do and aal or air bags. Another option is a leaf spring helper.

I was looking at those leaf spring helpers, might be the way to go, didn't think the rear shocks did anything to help the rear height, ugh, more money lol

ok, not so bad, 40 bucks for the Helper Springs from Advance after using my discount (gotta love being a part-time employee)

Now, what is the disadvantage to using Helper springs over buying new springs? Do I need to watch what I tow (not that I tow much, EVER, but when I move I use my truck to pull a uhaul trailer...

You are gonna have a bouncier ride than with new springs and as the helpers wear out it will sag still.......

Well I'm guessing the Helper won't wear out super fast lol, it is a good temp fix until I can buy new springs.

14.25" = 361.95mm
11" = 279.4mm

82.55mm

This is an 82mm difference, not 73mm, simply stating that you are too high.

You should be at 72mm, not 82mm.

Here are the specifications:

The difference should be 73 mm (2.9 inches) with +/- 3mm (0.12 inches), yes that is only 0.12 inch variance!

To accurately hit your mark I would turn it back down and jounce the front end between each measurement. See I bet you are going to have to go down something like 3 full turns on the t-bars or something. Just take it down little by little until you get it. It takes a while and a hell of a lot of measuring.

That was before, I am within 1/4 of each other now. But the rear still massively sags, and I was looking at putting a 3 inch block on the springs, but since my springs run under the axle not on top, won't that just lower it?

That 1/4 inch is still too much variance, but closer than it was, it was to low, had to go up on the torsion bar to get it within 1/4 will have to go up a tiny bit more, but.the front end is not really my concern right now, I know how to get into specs, just the rear is giving me problems, thanks for the correct specs though hydra, thought I had them right, but now I know
