Default Holy Shocks!

I'm beginning to catch up on some very overdue maintenance on my '01 Durango SL 4x4. (my wife has gotten a new car & finally surrendered this back to me). I was crawling around under the truck & noticed one of the shocks had a hole rusted in it. So when I replace the shocks, what should I buy? I don't rock climb with this thing, & the most mud it's been in was about an inch deep. It's used mostly to pull our pontoon, & when the roads get slick during the winter. I'm more interested in ride, but handling would be nice also. Although I don't really want a stiff, bumpy ride.

Did you try to search for similar threads? Probably 10,000 posts on the same topic here with supporting documentation.

LOL

Go get a set of Bilstein shocks. They are a great shock for little money.

Bilstein is going to be a rougher and stiffer ride than he wants. Monroe Reflex line is probably going to be the softest ride you are going to get out of these.

Keep in mind these are on a truck chassis so you're not going to have an SUV riding like a Cadillac!

Thumbs up

No I didn't search, it was easier to just ask. Pardon me. "Ask & it will be given unto you." Matthew 7:7

Monroe reflex eh? I know it's an SUV fellas, & I'm not expecting it to drive like a Coupe deVille (although this one is loaded & always did ride pretty smooth). I guess the one I have is considered a "classy SUV" LOL>.. I'll look those shocks up. Hope Rock Auto has 'em. Can't beat their prices.

Thanks dudes.

Yes Rock Auto does have them. I was doing some research on the site and this should save you some time:

Monroe Reflex (4WD Front) Part# 911220 ($36.79 ea)
Monroe Reflex (4WD Rear) Part# 911140 ($37.79 ea)
