Help
last february the tourque converter in my 99 durango went out I bought a used transmission and tourque converter for it because i was told if the tourque converter went out I would need a transmission. Now I've got the transmission ready and bolted up but when it is bolted in all the way I cannot turn over the engine but when the transmission is not bolted in I can turn the engine over by hand. The tourque converter is in all the way so what else would cause it.
Have u maybe had the starter tested to make sure its good? Maybe with the transmission bolted in it has some extra pressure that a bad starter couldn't kick over. If not, I'd check to make sure the torque converter was all the way in just to make sure and also go over everything to make sure nothing is missing
With the transmission bolted to the engine, Can you rotate the torque converter by hand to line up the torque converter bolts? If it doesn't rotate by hand, then the torque converter is not all the way back into the bellhousing.
