No Park ??
Hey,, Got a 98 Durango 4X4, The shifter in the floor for the 4X4 is in nutral an when I put my shifter thats on the colum in park my D still moves,,, But when I put the shifter in the floor for the 4X4 in gear then it will go into park good,, I have never owned a 4X4 so Can anybody tell me if this is normal,, Or is the shifter in the floor for the 4X4 is supposed to be put where the 2 is at for 2 wheel drive?

if the shifter in the floor is in nuetral the truck will roll even with the transmission in park, this is designed so that you can tow the vehicle w/o leaving the key in the ignition.
in order to lock the driveline when you put it in park you need to have the floor shifter in either 2wd, 4x4 or 4x4lo

you can shift 2wd to 4hi or 4hi to 2wd while moving at speeds under 40, you shouldnt use 4wd over 40mph because it will increase drivetrain wear.
for normal driving leave the truck in 2wd and you will be fine, when it snows or you go off road and traction is reduced you can use 4wdhi for that, 4wd low is for low speed high torque situation (pulling a boat up a wet ramp)
in order to get into 4wd low you need to stop and put the transmission into nuetral.
