factory radio is 1.5 din single din is the most common replacement and you get a faceplate to make up the difference.

I'll get you a pic and model number of mine, that way you know the dimensions I have in mine, and fits perfectly

I am going to look into custom building a space to use a 7 inch android tablet as my audio deck replacement! Much cheaper than most audio decks and and the tablet will have much more functionality!

Seen alot of people done it on Youtube and it rocks. Wished someone would have done something like this on a durango so I can get an idea how to approach this project!

kensai i have been working on a similar plan, however i was going to build a custom center console to go along with it and use an actual computer as the base for it, i dont have any digital information to share, but i have (somewhere) rough hand drawings of what iv been thinking about doing.

I am taking some measurements for now. I think i can cram a 8 inch tablet without over extending the width of the opening. Just need to find the right tablet to maximize the space of the opening without making any modifications to the oem opening.

I can custom build a piece for a double DIN and it will look MUCH better than a flip out.

Here is one I made for a Dakota. Check out the rest of my vids if you like

would like to see how a double din would look like for a 98-00 model dak/durango as it has the different type dash.

I assume that is only part of the process. You would still need to modify the space in the dash itself to make a double din fit.

Check this out as I was googling around for tablet installation for Durangos. They have a custom dash mount kit to hold up a tablet for Durangos.
