No offense but flip outs were nice years ago but no so much anymore unless you have no other choice. Why not add a double din unit in there and have everything you need? I know a great guy that can make it happen.

Its just my personal preference. Also a bit tight on money and a friend can get me this kind of stuff at cost.

Same here, i do all my mods on a budget, and a flip out 7" screen is going to be larger then any front screen that we can put in without modding the console.

Budgets huh? $125 for a double DIN and $100 for the bezel modification too much?

It also helps in thest, with the flip in, it kind deters theft a little bit, just because if you take a quick glance, its just a stereo

and btw, mine came with the truck and I refuse to mod the interior, I like it stock, it will help when I take it in to trade her in for a new rango. all those mods are nice, but don't add value at a dealer :-)

Also when you do mods of the dash or stuff like that, too much room for error!

When you go to put it in, be sure to run a new ground wire for it, the wiring harness will run the ground through the antenna, and that won't work!

A crackhead is going to steal whatever head unit you have no matter if it is a single DIN or a double. They do not care.

If you like stock and want to keep stock then you can always buy another stock piece off ebay or a truck getting parted out or a salvage yard and replace it and the OEM radio and then sell the modified piece and double DIN. If that was not possible I would not be able to pay my bills. I deal with guys all the time wanting bezels and head units. There is no more room for error with a double DIN than there is with a single. I cant count how many custom bezels Ive done but I can tell you I have never had one sent back to me because they didnt like it.

Im not trying to talk you into one because you obviously like yours, but a thief is a thief. Going back to stock is always an option and errors are not an option with professional work

Very well said, either way I go Im looking for just two things wheel controls to still work, and built in bluetooth for the phone, since that is where all my music is anyway.

Okay, i found one 7" moterized screen and it says it ISO 2 DIN size, and honestly i have no idea if that will fit in the rango. But it does come with a steering wheel control adaptor.
