+1 i have never blocked my wheels and i also have never had one slip off.... If i am planning on being under it the jack stands come out.
Yup. Jack stands or I used a set of ramps the other say and I must say they worked quite well

Ramps huh well what if you need to change a tire? I use ramps for oil changes and other things. well let you ask what would be the best size floor jack for a Durango?

The one I use is a 2 ton and it lifts it just fine.

seeing as the durango weighs roughly 2.5 tons, you could theoretically divide that by 4 and use the next higher rated jack (divide by 3 if you want to compensate for extra weight from the engine on the front)

so a 1 ton jack should be plenty capable of lifting the D to get a tire off, 2 of them an axle, 3 of them the whole truck

Or you could just get a 2 ton jack and lift the entire front up with the e brake on and in park, and bring it up high enough to put jack stands under. Done and Done.
