Default So I'm buying a Durango SLT...

I went truck-shopping today, and found ****-all for decent trucks. I finally wandered over to a Honda dealership, and they had a 2000 Dodge Durango SLT sitting in the lot for $10,800. Well below my budget, which makes me happy.

I test drive it, it was sexy as hell. I'm going back Tuesday to buy it, assuming it's still there and I don't run into anything bad about the truck.

The Details:

64,000 miles
Magnum V8, I'm thinking 4.7l?
Four wheel Drive
Auto transmission
3rd row seats, which I will immediately remove.
CD-Player

and basically every interior option BUT leather and sunroof. It's dead sexy.

Is this a decent price? Blue book retail is 13,830.
Has anyone had any problems from these trucks?

Edit: It's either a 5.2l, or a 5.9l. I'm not sure which.

No leather[&:][:'(][&:][:'(][&:][:'(]!!! Well, to each his own, I have a 2003 R/T and I have had a few problems, one was the central timing module, which i had to pay to replace since the warranty didnt cover it, the other was a blower motor resistor which was 11 bucks and a 10 minute fix. Other than that, no mechanical problems at all, I love this truck.

That's really a decent price considering it's under the blue book. Also, to every option but a sunroof and leather is also again.....a good deal.....

I'd take a friend who's mechanically inclined or even a mechanic if you know one and take it for a drive.....if it runs solid/rides well....I'd ****** that up!

What kind of gas mileage can I expect with mixed city/highway?

What about a 2002 Durango SXT charcoal grey, 4WD, 4Dr, 4.7L, cloth with 38,000 miles for $12,000?

Why remove the 3rd row seats? You can leave it down flat if you need more cargo room in the back?

I didn't know the rear seats folded down. I haven't had much hands-on time with the vehicle yet .

I guess I'm going to go ahead and buy it. Talk of engine sludge and 4wd trouble have me a little scared, but I like the truck.

This 2000 model will be using the 5.2 engine so sludge may be unlikely. The sludge reports are mainly focused on the 4.7 engine. At times, I would love to see the 5.2 litre make a comeback and maybe offered it with hemi technology! Those 5.2's (318's) been around like forever and really reliable.

Apparently my 2000 model comes with the 4.7l. Should I be concerned?
