When shifting the shifter broke loose, tore it apart and discovered that the end of the cable snapped. I called the auto parts store and none of them knew what I was talking about. Is this a dealership part? How do i replace this? Please help thanks.

Thank you. Should I trust a junk yard part for this one? It seemed to have snapped too easily. I had seen part numbers on a document that I had seen online, but now I can't find it. Do you happen to know where I can find this?

Its totally up to you where you wanna get it but, when i replaced mine, the dealer wanted somewhere around $115 bucks for it and the junkyard charged me $1 .. for that price ill take the chance on it and if it would snap ill just go grab another.
Dealer price for mine is 70 bucks... I am just paying the 70 bucks... I don't wanna take the chance. And the dealer said there was 3 different trannys for my year and I don't wanna chance the junkyard giving me the wrong part.
So, I picked the cable up from the dealer and it was NOT the same that was in it. It wouldn't fit through the hole in the firewall, so we had to remove the plate and file the sides to get it to fit. I swear there is NOTHING easy on this truck to fix! Grrr, but it is done and hopefully it doesn't snap again anytime soon.
