Driving my Durango out of the town for the first time since I have it tomorrow. Heading to Janesville, WI which is 162 miles southwest from here.

My durango after I got back from Janesville, Wisconsin tonight. I stop at the gas station before I got home and filled it up. Found out my gas mileage is 11 What is the normal gas mileage for 2003 Durango SXT with 4.7L?

Better than that. What were the driving and weather conditions? Did you have a major head wind or something? My 5.2 with 3.92 gears isnt even that bad on the highway

That’s really ****ty.. I get about double that @ 70 mph

..with a strong headwind I average around 17 (And I mean STRONG.. as in no 5th gear.. just 4th)

Snowy and windy. Before I headed down I got 14 and on the way back is 11.2. Now I have check engine light on it. I have to get the scan tool tomorrow so I can have one to carry around with me.

I'm guessing possibly bad O2 sensor. That can cause a loss of mpg. But you will know after you pull the codes.

turn the ignition three times within 10 seconds. It will read you the codes on the dash.

On-off-on-off-on (don’t be a fool and actually start the truck..)

Wish I knew I can do this before I bought the scan tool. I will go outside right now and see if it works.
