Shaking 70 MPH and above 1999 4x4 5.9
So while washing the durango this weekened I noticed a bubble on the side wall of the drivers tire. I took it to walmart to find out they no longer carry those type of tires. They asked if it would be ok to but on a single firestone. I told them no as I did not want the tires to be mismatched. I call up uniroyal who is having me go to a certified shop to have the tire inspected. After that they will figure out what to do. Here is a pic, very hard to see the bump but you can feel it with your hand.

[/URL]That there is a separated belt. Tire is no good.
No structural side wall strength means driving hazard...potential blowout.
Danger Danger Will Robinson!
So went to dobbs ( i think the company is a joke so i never go there, however had to in this case) worked with some lady who didnt know anything at all and said i did something to the tire. She then got a manager who said that it was where the belts over lap, i told him to feel the others and find where there is a bulge like that. He did didnt feel it, however said the tire was fine, called Michelin and said that the tire was a ok. Pretty pissed about the whole situation, I am planning to call Michelin back about this.
I had a suspected bad tire. Goodyear Duratrac. Just a year old. They replaced all four. No problem. No fight.
Dont quit fighting till you have four new tires. Warranty is warranty. If they dont make that style, upgrade at they're cost.

I have 2 things to add to this thread.
1st is the shake in the frontend, could very well be a ball joint going bad.
2nd is tires and wheels.
I currently am running on Mastercraft's, Courser A/T-2's.
The size is 31x10.5x15's and I am not happy with them at all on those oh so common 15" aluminum wheels.
Just like the ones on that Intense Blue Durango above this post.
The siping has already wore through and the tires behave badly on wet roads.
Winter weather makes it even worse.
I"m having difficultly finding a tire that I like in this size.
I do almost all of my driving on pavement so an A/T tire that leans more towards road use is my preference.
So to hopefully expand my possible selection I've actually begun looking for some used 16" Dodge aluminum wheels to replace these.
Maybe even 17" aluminum wheels if I can find some that fit my truck.
OEM is fine, I'm not looking for flash or wanting to put a lot of cash into wheels.

So if the tire does actually fail you can include them in the legal action, even if no one is injured.
I love my Duratracs.
Quiet on the highway. Snow rated for winter driving. Yet aggressive for some good off roading. 70000 mile rating I believe.
Plus flat repair and full replacement warranty.
Being a four wheel drive I get all four replaced on warranty if one goes bad.
I had one go bad as I previously said and no problems replacing them.
A lot may have to do with your dealer.
Fountain Tire here has no warranty on that tire.
Canadian Tire has full warranty.
Fountain tire was about $200 more for four.
Go figure.
