transmission help
have a 2002 durango transmission was working just fine until i took it in and had filters aand fluid changed now when i put it into gear i have to get the rpms up before it will move and it will not up shift. im at a loss here
I would guess a 45RFE transmission, only because in their post that filters were replaced. Remove the pan and drop the main transmission filter and see if the seal has been install into the pump. If the seal is on the neck of the filter. That is your problem, you are sucking air not fluid.
yes it is a 4.7 and i did drop the pan filter was installed correct they only changed 1 filter so i replaced the canister filter my self dont know if they put right fluid in can only hope so. and yes it is a 45rfe. talked to a different transmission guy and he said that that transmission and engine were made by mercedes is that right . he also scanned the trans for codes 4a and 10 came up for codes he didnt know what they were he told me it said to check factory service manual can anyone help me there with these codes

The 45RFE is a dodge transmission, The Nag1 transmission is a Mercedes. Did you drop the filter you had replace the first time? Because the is the O-ring/seal that I was asking about.
+1
People either leave the old one in or don't put one on. Remove the pan and pull the filter, look up into the oil pick up tube and make sure there is nothing inside there. Check the filter and see if there is an O-ring on the pick up stem of the filter. Hell, while your at it I would just replace it. Button it back up and either ensure he used ATF+4 which I doubt he did, but if he did then strain the oil you pulled out through some cheese cloth and put it back in. If not replace the fluid with the correct fluid.
Besides, that mechanic most likely installed the wrong fluid anyway if he thought it was a Mercedes Nag1 transmission. I think that wasn't installed only in Jeep until about 2005 or so, and even then I don't know if they even used them under the 4.7L or 5.7L. The fluid used was regular ATF if I remember correctly not ATF+4.
