Default 2001 durango 5.9 rt 4x4 issues

my vehicle has 109k miles ive owned it for a year and have barely put 7k miles on it and i have done the following to it:

full engine rebuild, oil pump water pump, plugs and cables etc...

got it back and has ran perfect with the exception of a small exhaust leak due to the bolts i presume

i am 1700 miles removed from the rebuild and i had this issue pop up 2 weeks ago and had a code for the thermostat i replaced it and the housing 5 days ago as well as the speed sensor to fix the abs light that came up on the dash intermittently before i did this i disconnected the battery waited for the gasket sealer to dry a few hours started up and drove for 2 days with no problems on the 3rd day i went to start it and nothing and thanks to this forum i did the self tests and got the ''No Bus'' message 30 minutes later starts right up drive it another day and today i go to start it doesnt start for 2-3 hours and finally does it stalled at a light luckily my brother was wiggling the harnesses at the pcm and it started while i was turning the key car made it home ,i left it running popped the hood to see and hear anything abnormal i heard a light clicking at the fuse box in the engine and the car sputtered made a noise like air was escaping somewhere and died i left it alone as i didnt want to mess anything up fast forward to now 6 hours later i go to turn the key just to see if the gauges would react as with the no bus it doesnt, gauges react everytime now but doesnt start and it stays on for 2 seconds and turns off

prior to this i disconnected some connectors i saw in the engine and reconnected them ive read all of the possible scenarios;crankshaft sensor, tps, pcm etc if anyone can give me some tips or where to begin that would be great, before and after the rebuild the car has ran excellent imo and i noticed a smoother ride after the speed sensor and t-stat replacement im sorry if my post is too long but this forum has been very helpful from stuff already posted and answered by the way doing the on,off test throws no code just ''p done''

thanks in advance for your help

Any codes? I'm also wondering why you needed a 'full engine rebuild' with only 107,000 miles? Mine runs perfectly at that mileage, as do most.

Hi,
No codes only code I've ever had was for the thermostat and my heads cracked and It had major sludge in the engine it sat for a year without being started before I bought it

I'd take off the connectors at the pcm and make sure the connections are clean.

I checked and those are clean ,I swapped the iac and TPS sensor this am the iac looked real dirty like not even worth cleaning dirty and the TPS well it just looked old to me ,I now have new issues different than my original post i no longer have "no bus" the Gage's turn when I go to on position(battery, fuel) I don't hear fuel line as you normally would when you turn the key I hear 2 clicks coming from fuse box and I get a cel light w / p1388 and p1491 I have swapped the relays around and I presume it's the ASD problem? I don't know how to check the grounds nor do j have a multimeter to check I had one "good" mechanic come by and he had no clue as to where to begin I know the crankshaft sensor could be the culprit and I will probably go there next but I've also read online that a bad battery could cause this ? I've seen it twice on different sites but no one really had a clear answer to that the vehicle has ran well before all this and I would like to thank you for your help so far and to anyone else who can lend a hand in this

Fyi the reason I swapped the sensors out were cause I have read a ton of posts online that those can go bad and can cause what happened to me yesterday my next steps would be these
Replace map sensor
Battery
Crankshaft sensor
ASD relay

Going back to the original post
I had swapped the speed sensor and t-stat with housing and I unplugged the battery once after reconnect is when all this occurred no stalling no rough idle at all just bad fuel economy

So did you switch the ASD relay with another one? A bad battery can screw with the computer, but I'd be surprised if it kept the fuel pump from running at all. If you do suspect the battery you can try cleaning the battery connections first.

Yes I did but only with similar ones on the fuse box I wil try with a new one tomorow and im leaning towards a new battery regardless but I've learned that the ASD will stop the fuel line from priming after a few tries and the relay acting up I guess is either a short, ground problem or the crankshaft sensor acting up causing it to trip OR since I disconnected the battery I needed to relearn the alarm to the vehicle ? I'm only going by what I've read online so I can't confirm that ,the 2 codes I got we're from the 2 relays I happened to swap is there a way besides removing just the negative to reset everything and un-do the ADS?

If the relay is working the pump should prime for a second when you turn the key to on.

update:

to recap what i did and what happened and the current status

replaced thermostat and speed sensor disconnected battery to do this

few days later no start ,ok 10 minutes later start right up drive it for a day same thing ok, 10 minutes later starts right up

i get ''no bus''

following night doesnt start at all for 2-3 hours i start it go for 10 minutes idle at drive thru shuts off ,

i start moving relays around and get
p1388 and p1491

this morning i swapped battery and 2 relays

go to start, nothing same thing i then begin to look everywhere at all connections and i have my son turn the key 2 clicks ,nothing
i go to hear for fuel pump to at least go on nothing i said ok i tapped it with my palm nothing i do it again towards the edge closest to transmission and bam goes on and starts right up at the moment ive let it run for 10 minutes i will shut it off for now and drive it later and report back anything new

EDITED:
it started 3 times 10 minutes at a time and would shut down each time after about 10 minutes the fuel tank trick didnt work but before it shut off the last time the lsst thing i heard was the fuel pump and it shut off,im guessing crankshaft sensor, fuel pump or pcm in that order?

Does the pump prime again as soon as you turn the key on, if so probably not the pump? I had a similar problem where I'd get random shut downs, and would take a couple minutes to start again. Changed the coil and still had problems, changed computer with one from the junkyard and still had problems, changed the crank sensor and cam sensor and have been fine for a while now. I never got the no bus message though. No bus generally means pcm failure.
